About The Galleria
The Galleria, constructed in 1991, was part of an ambitious plan to boost retail space in Hatfield. Imagine this: the A1m, a bypass of the old Great North Road from London, was ingeniously built as a tunnel with The Galleria perched on top. This all-glass marvel was designed to celebrate Hatfield’s rich aeronautic history.

Before the tunnel officially opened, there was a grand celebratory day where the public could walk through the then-closed tunnel. It was a vibrant scene filled with charity stores, music, and so much more.
